Synopsis:

Oliver Twist is an orphaned boy who loses his mother at birth and grows up in a parish workhouse. At the age of 10, he is sent back to the poorhouse where he was born, only to be punished and eventually apprenticed to an undertaker, where he is harshly mistreated.

Unable to endure the cruelty, Oliver decides to run away. In London, he meets John Dawkins, who offers him shelter and food. Unaware of the dangers, Oliver follows him and becomes entangled with a gang of thieves. What will be the fate of this poor boy?
